Og Mandino’s book “The Greatest Salesman in the World” and Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book “Breaking the Habit of being Yourself” have much in common. Both are highly recommended reads and dives into the importance of cultivating good habits in our life, while removing the negative habits harmful to us.
Any new routine or thing we do starts out awkward.
Think of the first time you learned to do anything! [drive a car, brushed teeth, walk, swim, learn a language]. For anyone who smokes or drinks, try to remember your first cigarette or drink. You likely coughed a lot or made a pucker face as your body was not used to it. None of these were smooth but over time it became second nature or automatic! They became an established habit.
Now is the time to take a look and write down all habits which are harmful to you and start replacing them with positive habits!
Some excerpts from Og Mandino below. Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book will be discussed in a future post.
“In truth, the only difference between those who have failed and those who have succeeded lies in the difference of their habits. Good habits are the key to all success. Bad habits are the unlocked door to failure.”
“[Your] Actions are ruled by appetite, passion, prejudice, greed, love, fear, environment, habit, and the worst of these tyrants is habit”
“..It is another of natures laws that only a habit can subdue another habit”
“..when an act becomes easy through constant repetition it becomes a pleasure to perform and if it is a pleasure to perform it is man’s nature to perform it often.”
