It can be so frustrating when you are misunderstood.
Have you had moments where you call out somebody for not being truthful and they get emotional and turn it on you?
Then it leaves you wondering what you did wrong, how come they do not see your point of view?
The more you try to explain, the worse it gets?
There are plenty of these situations between parents and children, married couples, partners, colleagues, friends, random strangers..you name it!.
At the core of these misunderstandings is a lack of shared reality.
Lets take two people Person A and Person B.
Person A has needs which are not being met and because of that there are a lot of feelings that come up.
Person B also has needs which are not met and due to that there are a lot of feelings that come up.
When there is some conflict between these two people, all the unmet needs from each and the resulting feelings around each get mixed up.
Helps practice empathy towards yourself and others, and then through a simple process, helps you gain insights into the issue that can help you move forward with healthier relationships!
